Agsafe welcomes AgMerch Pty Ltd to the drumMUSTER container recycling program

Published: 28-02-2022

Agsafe is pleased to advise that AgMerch Pty Ltd, has joined the drumMUSTER & ChemClear programs from 1 January 2022.

AgMerch Pty Ltd is an Australian owned and managed Animal Health company.

AgMerch Chief Financial Officer, Kristen Law said about joining the program, “AgMerch is firmly committed to product stewardship and the drumMUSTER program at two levels.  The first level is the reusage of IBCs and 110L drums where possible by the manufacturer at no cost to the consumer.  The second level is the collection of drums that can be recycled, which are removed from the environment for conversion to other products.  We are conscious of the fact that when drums are disposed outside of the drumMUSTER program, they will contain residues of chemicals that may be a danger to the health of the environment as well as reflecting poorly on our industry.”

There will be a period before all containers carry the drumMUSTER Eligible Containers logo. New container labels will have the logo printed on them. Current warehouse stock will be stickered with the drumMUSTER Eligible Containers logo. Existing product in distribution will not have the logo applied.

As such, all AgMerch Pty Ltd drums can be accepted at all drumMUSTER collection sites effective immediately.

Inspectors can keep up-to-date with a full list of participating manufacturers available on the drumMUSTER website at www.drummuster.com.au/whos-involved/manufacturers/

The drumMUSTER program has collected and recycled almost 39 million AgVet containers since operations began in 1999. This equates to nearly 43,000 tonnes of agricultural plastic waste that has been diverted from landfill or saved from being buried or burned on farms.
