Beating the Drum

Dexter is a character to help educate school children on the benefits of sustainability and recycling. Agsafe have developed a curriculum-based education lesson plan and activities for students in Year 4, 5 and 6. This also incorporates information on how to utilise the drumMUSTER program.

The resources provided on the Beating the Drum project support the development of Years 4, 5 and 6 students’ understanding of the need for responsible approaches to using the Earth’s resources, ie by ‘reducing, recycling and reusing’, leading to a healthier environment. The resources aim to extend existing school recycling initiatives to embrace the idea of ‘no waste’ or closed loop recycling.

The following information is for teachers in the form of three lesson sequences including activities. Please click the links to access the lesson plans.
